Ford Motor Company Cloud Engineer in Dearborn, Michigan

Position for Cloud Engineer on Azure Cloud Operations team. Cloud Engineer will help assist the team with improving cloud security, consulting application teams, and day to day operations of the Ford Azure Cloud. Candidate will work with RoW, 21v (China) and Dynamics Microsoft platforms. A strong foundation in Azure DevOps, agile methodology and CI/CD principles is highly valued.. Key projects include, Day-to-day platform operations, rearchitecting/engineering of manual processes to automated/self service and FinOps management of the Dynamics platform. Ideal candidate is a self starter and can work alone and on a team, reaches out to peers for help and asks appropriate questions to gain knowledge. Position is for Azure Cloud but some potential for Google Cloud Platform projects/cross function.

What you'll do...

The Azure Cloud team manages all aspects of Cloud computing for RoW (rest of world), 21v (China) and Dynamics tenants. We build and manage compute resources in Azure, and provide operational support/troubleshooting when application teams get stuck or have a problem. We also assist will translating application team’s needs and then advise them on how to proceed (aka consulting). Developing automation for manual tasks is a prime focus for the team between day-to-day operations.

After a 6-10 week training experience, the candidate will gradually take on independent work while being coached by the supervisor and team leads/team members. Position will require employee to come into the office one day per week with the potential requirement for additional days in office per week (pending leadership direction). Candidate will be expected to participate in mandatory on call rotation once trained and up to speed.

You'll have...

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Systems Security, Engineering and or related field of study

Model for FordOS Behaviors

Programming/scripting experience; Powershell, Terraform, Microsoft Graph API, Python, YAML, JSON

Experience with management of Azure Cloud including being familiar with Microsoft Azure services

SQL, CosmoDB, APIM, VMs, Service Bus, App Services, etc.

Familiar with App Registration and Enterprise App configuration and troubleshooting

Experience with monitoring, alerting and observability best practices and configuration; preferably Dynatrace and Azure Application Insights

Strong desire to learn and make a difference.

Motivated self-starter with ability to operate independently, creativity is encouraged

Strong time management to prioritize most critical work; prioritize incident response

Seek knowledge and help from peers when needed

Analytical & critical thinking

Flexible schedule; weekends and off hours expected during on-call rotation

Even better, you may have...

Additional Coding or Dev experience (Java/Javascript/Node.js, GoLang, C#, DAX, ASP.NET)

Excellent organization skills and attention to details

Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation development and general consulting

Agile/Rally experience

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics platform including licensing management

Experience with Google Cloud Platform

Preferred Certifications:

Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals (Fundamentals)

Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect (Expert)

Microsoft Certified Azure DevOps Engineer (Expert)
