ROUSH Automotive Mechanic I in Dearborn, Michigan

The Automotive Mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. The Automotive Mechanic I will be mentored and supported by team members on project work and customer interactions. The position offers a Monday through Friday schedule, with work hours from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
As an Automotive Mechanic I, you will be responsible for:
Maintaining vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
Repairing mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replacing parts and components
Reading, interpreting, and following service procedures
Maintaining vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
Keeping shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
Participating in daily shop organization and clean-up
To be considered as an Automotive Mechanic I, you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver’s license
Must have 6 months of automotive mechanic experience.
Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment
Good attention to detail and organizational skills
Able to work independently and as part of a team
Own tools with rolling toolbox
Ability to read, comprehend, and execute written procedures
A successful candidate may also have:
1 year of mechanical experience
Certificate in Automotive Technology or related
National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s)
State Mechanic Certification(s)
Knowledge of vehicle alignments, air conditioning (A/C) system repairs, tire machines and balancers
Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends
