Position Summary

The purpose of this role is to oversee the work of the shift production team to achieve company goals in a manner consistent with our company values.

Accountabilities

  • Demonstrate safety leadership and maintain a safe working environment for all employees, prioritizing safety over all other objectives. Ensure actions of the shift team are in alignment and in support of the plant safety program. Lead by example and drive accountability for safety within the team by increasing safety awareness, ensuring use of safe work practices and compliance with safety rules, and taking immediate action to resolve safety concerns.
  • Effectively schedule shift resources on a daily basis to ensure adequate staffing to meet production needs while minimizing labor costs. Coordinate and monitor the daily work of the shift.
  • Manage and lead the shift team in alignment with our core values. Ensure all team members understand their role, responsibilities, and production goals; responsible for ensuring that the work of the team is being performed to expectations and all standard processes are communicated and followed. Address personnel issues as appropriate and in a timely manner.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction by developing full team awareness of quality standards and procedures. Ensure quality of finished goods produced meets customer expectations.
  • Implement and drive efficient work systems to ensure targets are met for metrics regarding Safety, Quality Effectiveness, Scrap, Downtime, and Cycle time; perform basic troubleshooting when issues arise, engaging technical teams as needed for timely resolution.
  • Ensure that quick production changes occur with minimal rejects.
  • Recommend practices and implement an accountability system for plant cleanliness and organization (5S).
  • Promote a team-based, collaborative atmosphere within the shift.
  • Train and develop production employees to consistently build their skillset and guide them to achieve goals; perform quarterly reviews and provide balanced feedback.
  • Complete and submit production report at end of shift, communicating downtime events as appropriate.
