Job Summary: The Facilities Training Compliance Specialist is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the Facilities department training programs, ensuring compliance with internal and regulatory standards, and internal safety protocols and policies. This entails collaborating with team leaders to establish the training requirements necessary to optimize team skills, compliance, and performance metrics. This role supports the Facilities team to maintain a strong focus on safety, compliance, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Essential Duties:
Facilities Department Training Program Development and Delivery:
Design, implement, and manage training programs for department employees.
Collaborate with department subject-matter experts to ensure that training programs cover critical areas such as safety protocols, Facilities equipment operation, reliability, environmental compliance, and operational efficiency.
Conduct department-specific onboarding and continuous education training.
Develop and update department training materials, manuals, and e-learning modules as necessary.
(Co-)Organize and (co-)facilitate hands-on training sessions, including on-the-job training for Facilities equipment operation and maintenance, safety policies and procedures, and environmental compliance policies and procedures.
Manage third party training delivery needs, including the RFP (Request for Proposal) process, training vendor selection and onboarding (if required), PO (Purchase Order) issuance, and training scheduling/coordination.
Continually assess needs for new development programs and scale programs to meet needs of increasing department headcount in the coming years.
Collaborate with other departments (e.g., Operational Excellence, HR) to ensure development of comprehensive training programs that are aligned with company training goals.
Facilities Department Compliance:
Stay up to date on industry regulations, including OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ISO, and any other local, state, and federal laws applicable to the manufacturing environment.
Track and maintain compliance documentation, certifications, and team member training records.
Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to evaluate and resolve gaps in training compliance and delivery.
Conduct internal audits to identify gaps in compliance and recommend corrective actions.
Assist in the preparation for external audits and inspections (including those by our insurance carriers) and manage any corrective actions post-inspection.
Collaborate with the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) team to support the development and implementation of health and safety programs to reduce workplace injuries and accidents.
Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the Facilities department.
Promote safety awareness by conducting periodic safety drills, toolbox talks, and workshops.
Facilitate learning, collaboration, and interactions between team members, shift leads, and supervisory personnel that lead to productive and positive outcomes.
Understand and work in compliance with established SOPs and safety policies and procedures.
Reporting and Documentation:
Prepare and maintain detailed reports on training activities, compliance audits, and other relevant metrics/KPIs.
Provide management with regular updates on the effectiveness of training programs and compliance status.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator. Respirator fit test will be required based on functional area.

Qualifications
Requirements - Required and/or Preferred
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Business, Management, Engineering, or relevant field.
Essential Qualifications:
8+ years of experience working with operational teams in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge of relevant standards (OSHA, EPA, NFPA, ISO 9001, etc.), regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
Proficiency with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Possess a “safety-first” mindset.
Demonstrated Program/Project Management skills.
Strong ability to develop and deliver highly effective training materials and programs.
Excellent communication (verbal and written), organizational, and presentation skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate team members in a high-performing team environment.
Capable of organizing, energizing, and coaching others.
Excellent ability to help trainees with various professional backgrounds improve their work skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in e-learning platforms and training management software.
Experience working in ambiguous situations, e.g., start-up environments.
Experience in an industrial manufacturing facility setting with strong understanding of industrial manufacturing facilities processes.
Familiarity with reliability programs in an industrial manufacturing facility setting.
Preferred Certification(s):
Certified in relevant “Train the Trainer” Programs.
Certification in safety training (e.g., OSHA 30-Hour, NFPA 70E, HAZWOPER, Certified Safety Professional, etc.).
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) Certification.
