Panasonic North America Facilities Maintenance Technician III – Level 5 - PECNA DAYS in De Soto, Kansas

Overview

We are looking to fill the position of Facilities Maintenance Technician III – Level 5. The main responsibility for this position is to hold an advanced role within the Facilities Maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the operation, repair, and upkeep of the facility’s systems, equipment, and infrastructure.

Position Summary: We are looking to fill the position of Facilities Maintenance Technician III – Level 5. The main responsibility for this position is to hold an advanced role within the Facilities Maintenance team, responsible for ensuring the operation, repair, and upkeep of the facility’s systems, equipment, and infrastructure.

Essential Duties:

  • Work both independently and collaboratively across shift assignments with minimal supervision to execute routine rounds on mechanical and electrical systems.

  • Performs well defined troubleshooting and repair on facilities related equipment with no supervision utilizing schematics, diagrams, and drawings for diagnostics, trouble shooting, and repair.

  • Develops scopes of work and effectively ensures they adhere to work rules set forth by EHS (Environmental Health & Safety) standards, safe work practices, and quality requirements including Lockout/Tagout and other applicable forms of permitting.

  • Be able to quickly assess utility outages and take corrective measures needed to rectify the situations promptly and accurately.

  • Regularly interfaces with Engineering, Construction and other work groups including PECNA Tenants.

  • Maintains appropriate work-related records such as equipment maintenance records, general work orders, maintenance request forms, and CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) checklists.

  • Adheres to all safety and company policies, safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.

  • Utilizes CMMS for documenting labor hours and equipment maintenance reporting.

  • Must be proficient in more than one mechanical/technical construction trade: Electrical, Plumbing and Pipefitting, Boiler Maker, HVAC Journeyman/Mechanic highly preferred.

  • Advanced in the use of hand-held measuring devices, take readings for dew point, temperature, relative humidity, air flow, ampacity, pressure, and particulates.

  • Must possess advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Be able to read and identify equipment and fault areas on blueprints.

  • Be able to draft, approve, and follow Maintenance Operating Procedures (MOP) and Job Safety Analysis.

  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required repairs and service.

Equipment Maintenance and Repair

  • Collaborate with vendors or contractors for specialized services and ensure their work meets company standards.

  • 5 + years of advanced skills and abilities of electrical & mechanical equipment and components including but not limited to the following systems:

  • Compressed Air

  • Process Steam

  • Industrial Electrical

  • High Pressure Compressed Air

  • Exhaust

  • Dry Air

  • Dust collection

  • Process Vacuum

  • Nitrogen

  • Deionized water

  • Process Cooling Water

  • Hot Reverse Osmosis Water

  • NMP and electrolyte

  • HVAC

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Requirements:

  • To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees’, wearing PPE is a possibility and includes equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.

Qualifications: Requirements - Required and/or Preferred

Education

  • Basic/Required: High School Diploma, General Education Development (GED), or minimum two years of production/manufacturing experience

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of related work experience.

  • Advanced knowledge and work experience in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, pneumatic, and HVAC in an industrial manufacturing facility environment

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills and willingness to work on a team

  • Flexibility and a strong self-initiative are critical

  • Electrical Safety in the Workplace

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Industrial manufacturing facilities experience

  • Related Trade school/vocational graduate; 2+ years of trade school or equivalent

  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards.

  • Familiarity with building management systems (BMS).

Preferred License(s):

  • PIT License

  • MEWP

  • State Issued Driver’s License

Preferred Certification(s):

  • CPR Certification

  • QET Certification NFPA70E and or NFPA70B

  • OSHA 10 or 30

  • HAZWOPER 8 or 40

  • HVAC (EPA Section 608)
