University of Dayton Team Lead - Digital and Systems Engineering (Warner Robins Campus) in Dayton, Ohio

THIS POSITION IS IN WARNER ROBINS, GA

We are seeking a self-starting and proven engineer to lead a cross-functional team of 4-8 engineers and program managers in implementing digital materiel management (DMM) solutions for a government customer. The ideal candidate will demonstrate ownership of their responsibilities, fostering a culture of continuous improvement by embracing humility and accountability. They will be proactive, driving initiatives with clear priorities and innovative solutions. Key Responsibilities: • Lead and develop a team of engineers and program managers to execute the digital materiel management roadmap • Act as the primary interface with the government customer, ensuring alignment of project objectives and deliverables with client goals • Oversee the management and execution of pilot projects, including planning, resourcing, execution, and performance monitoring • Implement and manage digital materiel management solutions, ensuring integration with the customer's existing systems and processes • Provide strategic leadership, guiding the team in identifying, mitigating, and resolving technical and project management challenges • Ensure strong collaboration and communication up and down the supervisory chain, with government stakeholders, internal leadership, and external partners • Foster a collaborative team environment focused on problem-solving, continuous improvement, and delivering high-impact results • Track and report project performance, including cost, schedule, and quality, ensuring timely completion of milestones • Explore and pursue professional growth opportunities in the development and advancement of DMM initiatives

Minimum Qualifications

R2 level: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field • 6+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering, digital transformation, or digital materiel management, including leading technical teams or projects • Proven leadership abilities, taking ownership of project outcomes and driving proactive solutions to challenges • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead up and down the supervisory chain, fostering open, honest, and constructive communication • Experience managing complex projects and initiatives in accordance with a strategic roadmap, with a disciplined approach to execution • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring successful project outcomes while maintaining flexibility to adapt to evolving needs • Proven track record of distilling vague requirements into a well-defined project plan with clear milestones and metrics for tracking progress • Due to requirements of our research contracts with the U.S. federal government, candidates for this position must be a U.S. Citizen
