Dayton Children's Hospital Supervisor, Point of Service Operations in Dayton, Ohio

Facility:Dayton Children's - Main CampusDepartment:Patient Access - Main CampusSchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:Provide day-to-day supervision of the patient access functions for all assigned locations. Effectively communicate with all departments to determine ways to continually improve processes. The supervisor will handle issues that arise and determine the best solution for each situation including conflict resolution and assisting with disciplinary processes. They will be a direct contact for all DCH departments and leadership for Patient Access matters. Comply with Patient Access standards and DCH values to ensure staff and families have a positive experience during their time at DCH. Manage and resolve escalated customer concerns by taking ownership over account issues and providing communication to all parties involved with the concern. This is a position requiring excellent customer service, professional phone skills, independent thinking, problem solving, leadership, and advanced insurance knowledge. All duties shall be performed in a competent, high quality, timely and cost-effective manner in accordance with department procedures or protocols. Create and implement Patient Access team goals and metrics; this includes cash collections, quality registrations, MyKids Chart sign ups, and insurance accuracy to ensure positive experiences with but not limited to the billing process and communication between patient(s) and DCH. The supervisor will continuously assess all aspects of the Patient Access role and responsibilities to optimize processes and enhance the success of the Patient Access team and DCH; this includes project management and participation.

Department Specific Job Details:

Education:

  • Associate’s degree is required

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred

Experience:

  • 1 year of leadership experience is required

  • Ability to type 40 WPM is required

  • 5 years leadership experience is preferred

  • Familiarity with Medical Terminology is preferred

Certification/Licensure:

  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) is preferred
