The Operations Manager - Aircraft Maintenance plays a critical role in ensuring the seamless execution of aircraft maintenance activities, while strictly adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Senior Aircraft Maintenance Manager, this position involves the development and scheduling of comprehensive maintenance plans, coordination with various maintenance teams, and continuous monitoring of progress to ensure timely and efficient completion of tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a detailed aircraft maintenance plan in accordance with the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) maintenance planning documents.

  • Schedule and coordinate all aircraft maintenance activities, ensuring they meet safety and regulatory compliance

  • Monitor ongoing maintenance work, making necessary adjustments to schedules to ensure timely completion

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to all maintenance activities

  • Collaborate with maintenance personnel to ensure the availability of required resources

  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders to align maintenance activities with their needs

  • Participate actively in safety and quality assurance programs to uphold high standards

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of aircraft systems and regulatory requirements

  • Input and manage data in the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) aircraft records system

  • Assist in creating process steps within the Manufacturing Execution System (MES)

  • Leverage knowledge and experience with military and commercial aircraft ATAs (Air Transport Association Specifications), AMMs (Aircraft Maintenance Manuals), Work Orders, and Technical Orders

  • Utilize maintenance planning software effectively

  • Apply a strong understanding of FAA regulations and USAF customer policies to all planning activities

  • Lead or support project/program management tasks as needed

  • Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS)

  • Perform preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance in a Title 14, CFR Part 145 environment for both commercial and military aircraft

Must-haves:

    • Bachelor's degree in Aviation Management, Engineering, or a related field of study.
  • Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education

  • Typically 4-6 years' experience in aircraft maintenance planning or a related field with wide body aircraft.

  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with acute attention to detail.

  • In-depth knowledge of aircraft systems and regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Extensive experience with military and commercial aircraft ATAs, AMMs, Work Orders, and Technical Orders

  • Experience using maintenance planning software

  • Deep understanding of FAA regulations

  • Proven experience in project/program management

  • Expertise in Quality Management Systems

  • Demonstrated experience in performing commercial and military preventive, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance in a Title 14, CFR Part 145 environment

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other relevant software

**Preferred:**

  • FAA Airframe and/or Power plant Mechanic License

  • Experience with specialized maintenance activities, such as structures, avionics, and non-destructive testing

  • Familiarity with Continuous Improvement methodologies
