Job Summary The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for all aspects of engineering for large divisional projects as well as multi-divisional projects, including, the preparation of drawings for customer approval and detail fabrication drawings for internal use. RFI and GC submittal knowledge is critical. Strong ability to examine and interpret fixture intent from commercial/retail construction drawing with supplemental documentation is required. The fixture designs produced must represent the customer's design intent while incorporating valuable, efficient engineering, which will result in customer satisfaction, excellent product quality, and maximum financial benefits for idX. Location: ideal candidate must live in Dayton, OH area and work onsite for 6-9 months, eventually being able to go remote. Principle Duties & Responsibilities Ability to thoroughly examine and interpret fixture intent from commercial/retail/construction drawings, specifications, and supplemental documentation. Ability to review RFI's from vendors and GC and responded with detailed and accurate answers within a quick time frame. High level of experience interpreting commercial and retail construction drawings. Substantial knowledge of commercial & retail millwork and display fixtures. Be able to work with field installers to ensure installation of product is seamless. Work closely with the production teams and provide input on construction methods and product design. Work with multiple manufacturing sites and engineering teams to control the integration and completion of engineering projects. Review and approve external shop drawings from vendors to ensure their design intent meet yours. Create complete, accurate submittal drawings for customer review and sign-off. Making accurate, detailed shop drawings for both internal and outsource production/fabrication facilities. Be able to communicate verbally and in writing design intent and problem-solving direction to both customers and internal departments. Work out drawing issues/solutions with other departments, i.e. production shop. Strong ability to pay attention to detail. Able to travel to job sites and other divisions as required. Coordinate activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving of engineering designs. Produce drawing specifications for customer and production based on the prescribed design using the corporate standard for engineering/drawing, Autodesk Inventor and Vault. Review and produce fixture designs in compliance with idX engineering standards, customer requirements and any other related specifications established for the specified project. Find, source and develop fixture details and purchased parts that achieve design intent resulting in a cost-effective solution. Collaborate with production team to ensure idX manufacturing standards are incorporated into fixture designs. Create Methods of Manufacturing (MoM) for all manufactured wood/metal/plastic products. Work with procurement to ensure timely ordering of buyout/long delivery items to meet the project plan. Be able to learn and understand idX's ERP system, Epicor, as it pertains to engineering functions. Maintain, track, and update all drawing revisions to the Methods of Manufacturing (MoM) established. Evaluate and approve design changes, ECR's, and drawing releases. Prioritize cost savings throughout all processes, offering
