Dayton Children's Hospital EKG Technician II in Dayton, Ohio

Facility:Dayton Children's - Main CampusDepartment:Cardiology - EKGSchedule:Full timeHours:40Job Details:The EKG Technician II works under the direction of the cardiologist and the manager of cardiology. The qualified personnel will be skilled in arrythmia interpretation and recognition, physiology data monitoring and recording. Performance of other special procedures such as Tilt Table testing for syncope and graded cardiac exercise testing, MPI exercise testing, 6-minute walk test and cardiac exercise testing with metabolic measurements. Complete the set-up of cardiac monitoring devices, such as Holter monitors (or Zio Patches). This position also required performance of electrocardiograms, in-patient and outpatient setting, assisting cardiology at off-site clinic locations.

The position will collaborate interdepartmentally with hospital operations and outpatient service departments. The position is also responsible for complying with an effective hospital-wide program for surveillance, prevention and infection control. Recognize and advocate for each patient being an individual with unique healthcare needs. Provides considerate respectful care. Affirming the patient’s rights to make decisions regarding his/her medical care.

Department Specific Job Details:

  • Completion of a basic arrhythmia recognition course (required )

  • BLS certification upon hire

  • Experience as an EKG Technician (2 year preferred)

Education Requirements:

GED, High School (Required)
