The National Security Sector at Leidos is hiring for an Aerospace Engineer to work in Dayton, OH (Wright-Patterson Air Force Base / WPAFB). As an Aerospace Engineer you will use professional concepts in developing approaches to the solution of extremely complex problems and difficult requirements in avionics and aerospace engineering assessment with modeling, simulation, and assessment development. This opportunity is contingent upon contract award which is expected to be announced this month!

What you’ll be doing:

  • Integrate numerous advanced concepts, data and information from diverse arenas in order to synthesize an approach or technique to solve a problem.

  • Conduct investigations and tests of the highest complexity.

  • Apply and develop highly advanced technical technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts.

  • Review literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.

  • Maintain an up-to-date comprehensive understanding of the latest developments in the technical field as it pertains to the scope of responsibility.

  • Possess sufficient writing and communication skills to prepare and present reports, papers, proposals, briefings and other documentation pertinent to the position.

  • Lead technical personnel and activities for large programs or groups of programs.

  • Work with military customer on proposed opportunity concepts.

  • Work on problems that impact design/selling success or address future products and operational technologies.

  • Act independently to determine methods and procedures on new assignments and may supervise the activities of lower level personnel.

  • Ensure that system requirements and specifications are consistent with operational deployment environments aerospace system design and testing.

  • Recommend innovative solutions for technical and operational problems.

  • Monitor and document component and system tests.

  • Ensure compliance with government program management practices.

  • Support program control gates and engineering review boards and authoring and reviewing project documentation.

  • Evaluate and assess measures of effectiveness and measures of performance.

  • Develop CONOPS, CONEMPS, and TTPs for novel capabilities and emerging technologies.

  • Lead training transition to advanced military education programs such as TOPGUN, USAF Weapons School, and others.

  • Serve as contractor spokesperson on technical capabilities and future directions.

What does Leidos need from me?

  • Top Secret/SCI (TS/SCI) security clearance required. Must be U.S. Citizen.

  • Bachelor’s degree in degree in aeronautics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related field.

  • 15 years of related experience including advanced knowledge of avionics and aerospace engineering

  • Knowledge of Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A), Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL); simulations, development, integration activities, and operations.

  • Experience with root cause analysis and troubleshooting, vulnerability assessment and risk management, and CONOP, CONEMP, and TTP Development.

  • Knowledge of military operations and operational concepts.

Favorable if you have:

  • Graduate of TOPGUN, USAF Weapons School, or equivalent program.

  • Master’s degree in aeronautics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related field.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $144,300.00 - $260,850.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
