Join Trane Technologies’ Life Science Solutions as an Engineered Solutions Project Estimator ! Our Project Estimators are key members of the Engineered Solutions team who work closely with Project Engineers and Project Managers to provide competitive solutions for our client’s complex projects. The selected individual must have technical experience in the refrigeration field and a proven competency to accurately develop estimates for a wide range of projects,

Where is the work:

This is a remote opportunity.

What you will do:

  • Review bid documents, drawings, and division specifications to understand the work scope of a project.Work closely with the Project Engineer to identify specific technical requirements and identify appropriate suppliers.

  • Engage suppliers to obtain pricing for specified materials and work with the Project Engineer to confirm pricing on equipment selections and options.

  • Responsible for the take-off and pricing of purchased equipment to ensure accuracy of quantity, size, configuration, voltage, options, etc.

  • Estimate the cost of labor, materials, subcontracts and other required elements to determine the overall cost to perform our work scope for the project.

  • IIdentify, pre-qualify and engage subcontractors.Prepare RFP documents and work with the Project Engineer to provide appropriate drawings and other documents as necessary to solicit pricing from subcontractors.

  • Prepare written budgets and cost estimates as appropriate for the stage of the sales effort, including order of magnitude, rough budget, close budget and final estimates.

  • Utilize company tools to enter estimates into enterprise Estimator system for use by sales team in the quoting of projects.

  • Attend the pre-bid meetings and preform site walks if required.

  • Upon award of a project, prepare and transfer all relevant information to the Project Manager.

  • Work with the Project Engineer when appropriate to solicit pricing for alternate suppliers or value engineering options.

  • Maintain and foster supplier relationships, negotiate preferential pricing when possible.

  • Develop and maintain standard cost templates.Prepare budgets for re-occurring or similar work scopes.

  • Track accuracy of cost estimates to actual job results.Prepare regular reports to document trends and overall performance.

What you will bring:

  • Associates Degree in Industrial Design or Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Industrial Design, or Industrial Technology.

  • Experience using Worksite, Estimator, and/or other estimating systems.

  • Outstanding collaborative skills when working with other to develop and deliver on all financial elements for projects.

Compensation:

Base Salary Range: $60,000 - $85,000

Disclaimer: This "range" could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed, education, experience, travel requirements for the job, or because of a system the employer uses to measure earnings by quantity or quality of production (so, for example, positions that may not have traditional salary ranges). Our prosperous commission plans grow over time with a successful employee’s growing pipeline. Some sales professionals may eventually move to 100% commission.
