Job Summary:

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Corporate Development, the Corporate Development Intern will assist with analysis and research related to inorganic growth within the Corporate Strategy and Development group at Trane Technologies. The goal of this internship is to allow the intern to gain real world experience within a global company.

This position is designed for a rising undergraduate senior student.

Where is the work:

This position will be designated as onsite in Davidson, NC.

What will you do:

  • Develop a broad understanding of the processes required to (a) analyze acquisition and other inorganic growth opportunities and (b) execute transactions

  • Perform research to support the development of acquisition pipelines for strategic priorities

  • Provide analytics to determine whether transactions are a strategic fit

  • Develop valuation models

  • Contribute to the development of M&A standard work

  • Gather relevant data through online research and internal and external subject matter expert interviews

  • Prepare documents/presentations to summarize and present insights from the research and analysis

What will you bring:

  • Pursuing BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Engineering students with business background or related field.

  • Must be detail conscious, responsible, dependable, and able to work well in a team environment

  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and build relationships with the corporate development team, and functional team members engaged in transaction support

  • Ability to effectively communicate decisions in written and verbal form

  • Experience performance business analysis and a interest in corporate strategy/business development

  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and adapt to new challenges

Candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Compensation Information : Base Pay: $22.00 – $27.00 per hour. Relocation/housing assistance is available as a lump sum payment of $3,500 tax assisted.  To qualify for this benefit, your permanent address must be more than 50 miles away from your work location.
