Duties & Responsibilities: (Essential Functions of Position, Major Responsibilities, Summary of Key Duties, Special Assignments, Relationships)
Class VII position- Salary – new hire: $26.83; $27.48 after probationary period has been met. Current employees covered by the bargaining unit contract refer to salary schedule in Bargaining Contract.
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide variety of commercial food service equipment including refrigeration units, steamers, and water filtration units.
Must possess a current refrigeration license.
Make recommendations to the Supervisor when a repair may require an outside contractor.
Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
Ability to oversee the work performed by outside contractors from time to time as directed by the Supervisor.
Ability to drive food service cargo trucks, load and unload delivery goods including food, supplies, laundry, and mail.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
Communicates effectively with fellow employees and supervisors.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Food and Nutrition Service Specialist and/or Supervisor of Maintenance/Project Manager.
Physical Requirements of Position: (HBV ?Yes ?No)
Must be able to lift 75 lbs.
Able to walk up and down stairs and work from step ladders, extension ladders, scaffold and lifts.
Ability to climb, balance, stoop or kneel frequently
Physically able to operate a food service cargo truck and carry heavy, bulky equipment up and down stairs, jointly carry 80 lbs.
Able to work in very warm surroundings.
Special Qualifications: (Personal Qualities, Education, Skills Needed, Experience, Etc.)
High school diploma or GED
21 years of age and shall maintain a valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record as defined by the Board Policy.
Experience in minor maintenance and repairs
Excellent communication abilities.
Able to follow oral and written instructions.
May be required to help with snow removal when need arises.
