Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist An ABA therapist works one to one with the client and implements all the recommended strategies for reducing behavior and increasing skills outlined by the BCBA/LABA using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA therapists coach parents on how to run programs based on what the BCBA/LABA has outlined. Specialized Autism Consultants? ABA Therapists Responsibilities: \Provide 1:1 ABA therapy to children in their home and/or community. Community activities need to be approved by the BCBA/LABA \Implement programs developed by the BCBA/LABA based on ABA principles that increase communication, activities of daily living, social skills and play skills. \Implement behavior plans developed by the BCBA/LABA \Follow the instructions of their supervisor \Collect data and complete session notes \Inform parent/guardian and supervisor if running late for a session \Inform parent/guardian and supervisor if sick and need to cancel the session \ABA therapists do not make recommendations, make changes to behavior plans or skill acquisition programs, consult to parents, create programs or consult with outside providers unless if it has been approved and coordinated by the BCBA/LABA
