Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this role, you will lead and oversee the design, development, and optimization of complex mechanical systems and components. You will leverage your deep technical expertise to drive engineering projects from conception through to implementation, ensuring they meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the mechanical design, analysis, development and testing of electronic, power and control systems and sub-systems, from concept to production.

  • Review and ensure compliance to Customer and contract specifications and performance requirements.

  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, other mechanical engineers, and designers in the development of components and systems.

  • Apply Design for X (DfX) methodologies including but not limited to Design for Cost, Design for Test, and Design for Manufacturability into the products being developed.

  • Investigate product or process issues and implement expedient cost-effective solutions.

  • Responsible for meeting schedules and budgets on multiple programs with completion of technical activities of moderate complexity.

  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services.

  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks.

  • Participate in preparation of moderately complex proposals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering

  • Proven track record of at least 5 years in the design and development of mechanical packaging of electronic systems, preferably in controls, power conversion or electric drive systems

  • Proficiency in modeling and simulation tools such as CREO, Siemens NX, and ANSYS, or equivalent

  • Strong understanding of thermal management, shock and vibration structural design, and reliability engineering principles

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex issues.

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
