Communications Specialist

Position Overview

Leading flooring solution provider, Shaw Industries, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our dynamic team. The communications associate will be responsible for developing and executing various forms of internal and external communications materials. The successful candidate is responsible for working with Shaw leaders and partners to support the company values, culture/brand, goals and objectives and promote a positive company image.  

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Collaborate with communications team members and internal business partners to develop and deliver engaging content in support of communication plans that achieve organizational objectives   

• Plan, write, edit and proof a variety of content for use in various communication vehicles for Shaw’s omni-channel strategy. 

• Plan and execute delivery of content on company’s digital channels and monitor channel analytics to determine needed changes in content/approach.

• Create and implement communication plans with oversight from Corporate Communications team leader.

• Foster relationships with key internal team members and leaders.  

• Contribute to and maintain up-to-date editorial calendars, content requests and distribution lists.

  REQUIREMENTS  

• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, marketing and/or business, or related field. 

• Must have excellent written, proofreading, communication and interpersonal skills.

• Strong organizational skills and self-motivated 

• Problem solver, attention to detail and strategic thinking. 

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet required deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 

• Team collaboration and leadership skills. 

• Computer proficiency in Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, Internet research, etc.

Work Shift

8 Hr non-rotating shift, Hrs fall to in punch day, Observed Calendar, shift starts AM
