Reference #: 85347-361436 GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: To determine and implement electrical designs that meet cost and schedule objectives and customer requirements. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Reviews customer requirements including customer specifications, Statements of Work, and interface drawings in order to ensure compliance with contract. Attends job kick-off meetings and participates in design reviews with customers. Supports preparation and updates to engineer task lists and program schedules. Work to schedules and budgets on assigned programs. Designs AC & DC electrical systems from customer specifications. Designs Communications and Signal electrical systems from customer specifications Develops systems layouts, subassembly configurations and packaging criteria. Prepares wiring diagrams and lists and electrical schedule. Provides design input to engineering design and drafting team. Reviews and approves drawings. Supports production of prototype and production electrical system build. Interfaces with other departments to resolve questions and technical issues. Assists in scheduling engineering tasks for assigned programs. Creates technical proposals, technical materials, procurement specifications and electrical analyses. Supports the Sales department in proposal development and engineering estimates. Reviews vendor/shop drawings, quotes and proposals. Creates electrical long lead parts list and Cost Schedule Impact Logs (CSILis.) Submits Engineering Change Proposals (ECPis, RFWis, etc.). Interfaces with customers and contracts team to resolve customer related issues. Contributes to product improvement, new product development and product standardization. Failure analysis with clear problem synthesis and robust solution proposals. Provides intelligent risk assessment and mitigation for electrical design engineering tasks. Support internal and customer test and validation as required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: BS/BA degree in technical field 5+ years professional engineering experience Thorough knowledge of circuit simulation programs Thorough understanding of the relationship between hardware and software for company products WORK ENVIROMENT / PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Office environment Ability to stand and sit for long periods of time Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, 10-key, phones) Ability to liftiup to 10 pounds
