Jacobs Water Process Mechanical Engineer in Dallas, Texas

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Water Process Mechanical Engineer in North Texas.

As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our municipal clients’ water and wastewater challenges locally and worldwide. You’ll be charged with designing water and wastewater pump stations, treatment facilities/processes for water and wastewater plants, conveyance systems, technical writing, and construction drawing and specification production. We’ll have you use your experience to design pump stations for water and wastewater, including pipe sizing calculations, selection of pump type, process facilities (primary, secondary, tertiary, and solids treatment systems), rotating equipment (centrifugal pumps, blowers), piping systems, valves, and appurtenances for in plant process piping, chemical systems, and hydraulic studies. You will work collaboratively with our team to complete the following:

• Evaluation and selection of process equipment, pumping systems, materials selection

• Development of facility layouts, construction documents, including drawings and specifications

• Water and wastewater process modeling, mass balances, and design calculations

• Data analysis and hydraulic modeling

• Technical report writing

• Construction services support

• Field inspection of mechanical equipment

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or related engineering field from an accredited university or college.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.

• Self-motivation, team-oriented work practices, strong data analysis skills, technical problem-solving ability, organizational skills, and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient skills with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Ideally, you’ll also have:

• 10 or more years of experience including internships specific to municipal water and/or wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, and conveyance systems.

• Master’s degree in mechanical or related engineering discipline.

• Hydraulic modeling skills (AFT Fathom, Pipe-Flo).

• Construction or facility operations experience.
