Description We are in search of a Staff Accountant to join our team in the construction/contractor industry based in Dallas, Texas. As a Staff Accountant, your focus will be on managing customer accounts, processing applications, and maintaining precise records.

Responsibilities

• Accurately and efficiently process customer credit applications

• Keep precise records of customer credit

• Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions

• Ensure project costs are in line with budget forecasts and promptly identify any potential cost overruns

• Prepare and review job cost reports to keep track of project budgets and expenses

• Distribute financial reports to project managers, contractors, and upper management

• Manage invoice processing from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers

• Ensure invoices are paid timely while maintaining accurate records of accounts payable

• Prepare and send invoices to customers for completed work, tracking payments and collections

• Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies

• Review and analyze contracts to ensure financial terms are accurately reflected in project records

• Keep track of contract billings and payments to ensure contractual obligations are met Requirements • Must possess a deep understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) procedures.

• Proficiency in conducting Bank Reconciliations is essential.

• Familiarity with handling General Ledger tasks is required.

• Should demonstrate ability to prepare and review Journal Entries.

• Experience with Month End Close processes is mandatory.

• Expertise in using NetSuite for accounting purposes is expected.

• Knowledge of Oracle's financial management software is a plus.

• Proficiency in QuickBooks for accounting and payroll tasks is necessary.

• Familiarity with SAP's financial management software is beneficial.
