Direct the activities of the CASS Analysis team in compiling and analyzing data to identify trends in support of the Tech Ops CASS program with the aim of eliminating program deficiencies and validating the effectiveness of program improvements across Technical Operations and partner organizations.
Reports to the Director, Quality Programs and responsible for a team of analysts that administer safety assurance programs and safety risk management activities to support compliance with Title 14 CFR 121.373 Continuous Analysis Surveillance System (CASS) and Title 14 CFR Part 5 Safety Management System (SMS) with Technical Operations.

Leads a staff of analysts responsible for the CASS program to effectively identify and address compliance risks and ensure regulatory compliance
Manage program metrics to effectively identify program needs and drive new CASS projects
Act as lead for CASS projects interacting with all operating departments to develop tactical and strategic plans
Manage the CASS Analysis departmental staff and drive the direction of the CASS program, and the SMS requirements within Tech Ops
Responsible for the overall performance of the organization including expenses to budget
Oversee monitoring of airline operations to identify potential issues using periodic CASS inputs by observing and collecting pertinent information from various sources
Build and maintain an effective working relationship with the FAA and other regulatory agencies in relation to CASS/SMS initiatives
Manages CASS initiatives, including tracking status of corrective actions and long-term performance trends.
Responsible for periodic safety and compliance reports, such as monthly CASS Working Group (CWG), CASS Review Board (CRB), and Technical Operations Decision Action Group (TODAG)
Develops direct reports by setting clear goals, reviewing progress and providing concise feedback, guidance and training, maintaining accountability
All you'll need for success
Minimum Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Aviation Management or other relevant field or equivalent experience/training
8 years airline maintenance experience and experience leading cross-functional teams and large-scope projects
Extensive knowledge of Technical Operations business processes and systems
Proven experience in data gathering and analysis, six sigma or similar methodology
5 years experience with safety and airworthiness investigation/evaluation and root cause analysis
3 years experience managing staff
Demonstrated knowledge of maintenance programs, policies, and procedures, Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and Airworthiness Directives (ADs)
Knowledge of SMS principles/philosophy
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with external agencies
Preferred Qualifications- Education & Prior Job Experience
10 years airline industry or equivalent experience with CASS/SMS
Thorough understanding of AA Policies and Procedures
Green Belt certification from a qualified source for Lean/Six Sigma (LSS) accreditation
Skills, Licenses & Certifications
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals at all levels within the organization as well as with contacts at external agencies
Ability to effectively manage multiple projects, shift priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic work environment
Proficient with Microsoft Office software
Excellent planning, project management, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to manage several projects simultaneously meeting schedule deadlines
Working knowledge of AA Tech Ops policies and procedures
Working knowledge of FAA, OSHA, EPA and other governmental regulations pertaining to aircraft maintenance, repair, engineering and vendor management
Working knowledge of the applicable CFRs and their application
Skilled in identifying personnel strengths and weaknesses; utilizes team members effectively to leverage skills and provides opportunities and direction to reduce weaknesses
Demonstrated skills in employee development
