As a supporting the drug and alcohol program for American Airlines, you will have the opportunity to work at the intersection of regulatory compliance and safety, contributing to the critical mission of ensuring passenger and crew well-being. What you'll do

  • Conduct quality assurance checks on testing processes and documentation to maintain accuracy and compliance with FAA and DOT regulations.

  • Monitor inventory and supplies related to testing kits and materials, ensuring availability and proper storage.

  • Provide administrative support by maintaining records, preparing reports, and assisting in the documentation of testing procedures.

  • Conduct data analysis and reporting to ensure compliance with federal regulations (FAA, DOT) and company policies regarding drug and alcohol testing.

  • Generate regular reports on testing outcomes, trends, and program effectiveness for management review and regulatory submissions.

  • Monitor program metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and efficiency.

  • Analyze testing data to detect anomalies, trends, or potential issues and recommend corrective actions as needed.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert on drug and alcohol testing protocols and regulations, providing guidance and training to relevant stakeholders.

  • Participate in audits and inspections related to the drug and alcohol program, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal controls.

  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of sensitive information related to drug and alcohol testing results and compliance activities.

  • Stay updated on industry best practices, regulatory changes, and emerging trends in drug and alcohol testing to inform program enhancements.

All you'll need for success

Minimum Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, statistics, or a related discipline

  • Experience in data analysis, preferably in a regulatory compliance or safety-focused environment

  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data interpretation and reporting

  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive information related to drug and alcohol testing

Preferred Qualifications - Education & Prior Job Experience

  • MBA or Master's degree in organizational behavior, human resources, education or related field

  • Knowledge of Federal Regulation CFR 49 and FMSCA

  • PMP certification or Agile certification
