Advancial Software Solutions Architect in Dallas, Texas

Responsibilities

SUMMARY

Architects solutions, creates designs and documentation for the development team, with details of the business concepts, goals, objectives and strategic requirements, primarily of member-facing systems. Has practical ability for implementing 3 rd -party APIs, with capability to dissect, assimilate and distill particular API functionality as it relates to the needs of a project, including API results logging and webhook automation. Serves as a primary member of the implementation team, primarily for external-facing systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Analyzes and qualifies stakeholder requirements as a basis for architecting a software solution, specifying a design which considers dependencies and integrations, fault-tolerance, scalability, and security, in view of the required outcomes.

Architects solutions, creates designs and documentation for the development team, with details of the business concept, goals, objectives and high-level requirements, primarily of member-facing systems.

Possesses a thorough understanding software development using the “Microsoft Stack” of programming languages and coding environments, to be versatile and adaptive to the needs of a solution, within our coding environment. Maintains an understanding and competency with respect to software and other systems required to perform the duties of the position including but not limited to Microsoft Office and Symitar.

Has practical ability for implementing 3 rd -party APIs (Application Programing Interfaces) or plug-ins, with capability to dissect, assimilate and distill particular API functionality as it relates to the needs of a project.

Designs and builds API result-logging and webhook “pulls” for creating automation to managing errors, action faults, communication, and to initiate proactive remedies for members and departments.

Considers and recommends optimum technologies, platforms, languages and web services to achieve required results.

Encodes new, and modifies existing systems as directed, using various programming languages (see “Education and/or Experience” section of this job description).

Investigates program errors, defines problems, debugs programs, tests results, and implements changes.

Pursues opportunities to guide and mentor other programmers, as situations arise.

Creates workflow illustrations to help visualization, clarity and to defend designs.

Presents and defends architectural, design, and technical choices to stakeholders.

Ensures design specifications are practical and can be actioned by the development team.

Cultivates an interest in our business, building upon lessons learned from working with departments to develop a working familiarity for processes, dependencies, constraints, compliance, downstream effects and consequences, as they all might influence recommending a particular software solution.

Continuously expands skill set by investigating new programming tools, languages, techniques and environments. Shares knowledge and experience with other members of the Programming staff to gain feedback and for reporting discoveries to Supervisor.

Ability to multi-task while meeting important deadlines.

Provide system support services on-site and via telephone during working hours and be available on-call as needed to support business needs.

Fosters a positive culture throughout the organization. Promotes respect and harmonious relations among accounting staff and with departments throughout the organization.

Ensures positive relationships with the branches, internal departments and external partners. Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for members and employees consistent with the Credit Union's mission and philosophy.

Exercises strong written and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex technical information in a clear manner to peers, developers, product managers, senior leaders and non-technical stakeholders.

Performs and assumes other duties and responsibilities as required at the direction of the immediate supervisor.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must be capable of accomplishing standard software development tasks.

Must have on the job experience in the following areas: Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL); MS Visual Studio (C#); MVC/.Net Core, jQuery, HTML5, CSS3, XML, JSON, Javascript, Web Services, SOAP and/or RESTful APIs, Postman. Translating concepts into flowcharts and work flow diagrams. Other desired experience: Ajax, Angular, Bootstrap, and XSLT.

OTHER KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Working knowledge of computer equipment and software required including Microsoft Office Suite. An understanding of state and federal laws.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
