Amazon Software Development Engineer II, SMGS Ops Regionalization in Dallas, Texas

Description

The AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services Operations (SMGS Ops) team is looking for a passionate, innovative, and results-oriented Software Development Engineer to help us build regionalization-focused, strategic products that support the AWS Sales and Marketing organization. These products will ensure that our systems and services enable the business to scale while meeting unique access control, security, and compliance requirements -- the opportunities are huge, and the impact is massive.

We're seeking a candidate that thrives in an ambiguous setting, can identify customer pain points and needs, and is comfortable working with cross-functional teams to deliver high quality solutions. We're building systems from scratch, and this software development engineer will work at the intersection of software and data to maintain an exceptionally high bar for security and compliance in this rapidly evolving space.

Sales, Marketing and Global Services (SMGS)

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

  • Automate and scale operations mechanisms that enable the business while maintaining high-bar data handling and compliance outcomes

  • Design systems and solutions that enable business users and technology teams to operate more efficiently and effectively

  • Work with both senior engineers and technical product/program managers to define, build, drive, and measure compliance outcomes across Sales and Marketing systems

  • Leverage strong communication skills and a passion for using data and software to drive business decisions at scale

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
