Pay Type: Exempt / Salary paid Twice Per Month

Annual Salary Pay: $89,000.00 - $94,000.00 in addition to a 10% bonus eligibility

Schedule: Monday through Friday from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm. Additional hours and days as necessary to meet operational demands.

Ryder is seeking a dynamic Senior Logistics Manager to lead our carrier contracting and operational efforts. In this role, you will negotiate and manage contracts with carriers, ensuring they meet their obligations to our client. You will also respond to evolving client needs, leveraging current carrier relationships or sourcing new partners to deliver exceptional service.

This position plays a pivotal role in managing operations and carrier performance. The ideal candidate will bring a strategic vison to further develop this role, drawing on significant experience in a brokerage or logistics. A strong analytical background is essential, as youll be responsible for tracking and interpreting data to make informed decisions, creating actionable plans, and presenting insights to senior management and clients. Experience in excel (advanced), powerbi, and access is REQUIRED.

The Transportation Manager will be responsible for developing/refining the procurement strategy for a number of our Fortune 500 client. This position will work hand-in-hand with strong mentors, talented local operations teams, and supply chain engineers to design, implement, and maintain best in class transportation solutions. Develop and maintain a network of carriers and be responsible to foster the relationship while engaging them on the best opportunities for our mutual success. The ideal candidate has an extensive background in FTL/LTL operationally and solid market intelligence while also being aware of current market conditions as well as forecasted changes.

Responsibilities:

Serves as the liaison between the carrier and operations. This includes understanding what both the carrier and operations needs are in order to align the relationships, acting on behalf of the carrier and/or operations when presenting and educating what the benefits are of building the business relationship 30%, Carrier analysis, price, and service negotiations 20%, Interaction with internal operations and support services teams - Promoting strategic procurement vision for operations portfolio 20%, and Assisting with RFP creation and responsibility for analysis and collaborate on strategic carrier selection.

Summary

The Senior Manager Logistics provides leadership for turn-key transportation solutions. The incumbent will have and mai tain high level interface directly with the customer on a regular basis.

Essential Functions

Interface directly with the customer to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Strategic operational planning and execution for the operation.

Identify and/or solve operational issues with the account(s) by implementing continuous improvement and LEAN initiatives, to strengthen team unity, goals, productivity and results.

Hire, supervise, develop and manage performance for employees and maintain a positive employee relations environment at assigned account(s).

Maintain open and effective communications within the work group(s) and with other work groups within the organization. Review data, identify and implement necessary actions as required.

May manage the profit and loss statements based on the complexity and scope of the organization.

Lead a proactive safety program within the work group(s) consistent with company policy in order to provide a safe and secure work environment. Instruct and enforce location safety management plans, training and processes. Monitor the maintenance of equipment for assigned work group(s) by using checklists and observations as required.

Qualifications

H.S. diploma/GED required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred

Master's degree in Business, Logistics, Transportation or related field preferred

Five (5) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required

Five (5) years or more managing, leading and developing direct reports required

Three (3) years or more Profit and Loss responsibility preferred

One (1) year or more customer interaction preferred
