Job Title: Facilities Maintenance Technician (2nd Shift)

Job Description

Provide routine and specialized building repair and maintenance support for hospital, hospital equipment, and hospital properties utilizing the computerized maintenance management system. Identify and correct problems such as mechanical systems (pumps, belt drivers, gear reduction drives, piping, valve diagnosis and replacement), plumbing systems (installing, repairing and maintaining pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing used for wastewater distribution and wastewater disposal), electrical systems (install, test, maintain, and diagnose electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, fixtures, components, and systems), and control systems (sensors, limit switches, solenoids, motors). Provide technical support and general guidance to facility staff in the repair and operation of facility equipment, systems, utilities, and the like. Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, educational opportunities, and related training.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine and specialized building repair and maintenance support for the hospital and its properties.

  • Identify and correct issues with mechanical systems, including pumps, belt drivers, gear reduction drives, piping, and valve diagnosis.

  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems used for wastewater distribution and disposal.

  • Install, test, maintain, and diagnose electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, fixtures, components, and systems.

  • Diagnose and repair control systems, including sensors, limit switches, solenoids, and motors.

  • Provide technical support and general guidance to facility staff in the repair and operation of facility equipment, systems, and utilities.

  • Participate in hospital and departmental safety programs, educational opportunities, and related training.

Essential Skills

  • Proficient in the use of computerized systems for all aspects of job performance.

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.

  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams.

  • Ability to work effectively unsupervised and in teams.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening skills.

  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays.

Work Environment

Working inside a hospital with a team size of 15-20. The contractor will be working the 2nd shift (3 pm-11:30 pm) and will interview with the hiring manager during the second shift. Must be able to work some weekends.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $38.00/hr.
