Universal Engineering Sciences Environmental Project Manager in Dallas, Texas

We have an opening in our Dallas Office Environmental Department for an Environmental Project Manager. As an Environmental Project Manager, you will be responsible for overall project management of Phase II Environmental Site Assessments, which may include various types of properties such as undeveloped land, agricultural, residential, multi-family, retail, and commercial/industrial. The Environmental Project Manager is a key role responsible for coordinating drilling, sample/data collection, subcontractor tasks, evaluating data, and compiling written reports for submittal to clients and regulatory agencies.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages and conducts Phase II Environmental Site Assessment projects in accordance with generally accepted industry practices in the same geographical area

  • Creates and updates proposals for various projects across multiple geographies

  • Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, tests, and aerial photographs on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and other topographical and geologic data to plan and design project

  • Prepares cost estimates, proposals, and invoices

  • Meets project budgets and schedules

  • Ensures that project deliverables meet quality standards and that project outcomes meet the client’s expectations

  • Effectively solves problems as they arise during the project lifecycle

  • Answers client questions and assists them promptly

  • Organizes client-provided documents and files for tracking and operations purposes

  • Communicates with clients and owner representatives

  • Schedules project site visits and other necessary field work

  • Conducts environmental business development, cross-selling, networking, and marketing

  • Operates a computer proficiently

  • Handles special client requests regarding specific report format and billing requirements

  • Follows safety procedures

  • Completes other duties as may be assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening

  • 3 or more years’ experience in project management, consulting, or similar with an A/E/C firm

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Engineering, or a similar major

  • Proficient with evaluating sites under the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) Texas Risk Reduction Program (TRRP) and/or the Petroleum Storage Tank (PST) Program.

  • Highly organized and able to multi-task

  • Self-driven and dynamic in a team environment

  • Good verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software

  • Ability to read and write, including interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, as well as writing routine reports and correspondence and speaking effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers/clients

  • Ability to function in a high-stress environment

  • Reasoning ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters’s degree from an accredited university or college in Environmental Science, Geology, Biology, Engineering, or a related field

  • Geoscientist-in-Training (GIT) Certification

  • Licensed Professional Geoscientist (PG) or Professional Engineer (P.E.)

  • 40-hr OSHA HAZWOPER training and certification

  • Local networking with strong client relationships

  • Ability to cross-sell between internal service lines
