Job Description:

Credit Review and Credit Risk Audit support the management and mitigation of credit risk at Bank of America. Credit Review is responsible for providing an independent assessment of credit lending decisions across the Company’s eight lines of business. Credit Risk Audit evaluates the management of Credit Risk across the 1st and 2nd line of defense including adequacy of controls, processes, adherence to regulations, policies, and procedures, and accounting treatments.

This job is responsible for planning, developing, overall management and supervision of testing and examination activities as it relates to coverage across Credit Review and Credit Risk Audit.

Key responsibilities include designing and developing an execution framework supporting Credit coverage across Credit Risk Audit and Credit Review organizations, while managing a team responsible for coordinating support for complex, cross-functional projects to ensure accurate and timely execution, escalating key issues/emerging risks, and maintaining an open dialogue with business partners, executive management, and regulators. Job expectations include management of the execution framework inclusive of related policies and procedures and reviewing/approving documentation as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages a team of associates to ensure accurate and timely execution of all responsibilities and efficiently allocates resources across the organization to drive short and long term goals

  • Lead several OpEx initiatives to streamline and drive efficiencies within processes, inspects and manages organization health of the team to ensure succession within the organization, while supporting enterprise talent needs

  • Process Owner for Credit Review coverage and supports the evolution of Credit Risk Audit coverage within the broader Audit Strategy

  • Challenges end-to-end process efficiency and effectiveness, championing data driven decision-making, and removing obstacles to optimize operations

  • Contributes to enterprise strategy and influence messaging to connect team contributions to business purpose, results, and success

  • Document and refine approaches to ensure consistent, high-quality execution, inspects and challenges risk controls, governance, and culture to ensure timely identification, escalation, debate and remediation of risk across the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10+ years in Credit / Credit Risk role or have a similar background

  • Underwriting experience in Financial Institutions.

  • Strong understanding of process evolution, technology, and control infrastructure

  • Sound organizational, analytical, oral, and written communication skills including ability to effectively write reports, present to management and various regulators.

  • Ability to work in a matrix reporting structure.

  • Ability to successfully communicate to influence management and lead change on both strategic and tactical initiatives.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to effectively interact with diverse teams.

  • Sound organizational, analytical, oral, and written communication skills including ability to effectively document conclusions

  • Understanding of Credit Risk Review and/or Audit practices and methodologies as well as rules for professional and ethical conduct.

  • Ability to think critically and apply audit and technical expertise.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Professional certification preferred (e.g. CPA, CIA, CFA, RPM)

  • Audit / Assurance or operational experience in large scale enterprise environment / financial institution.
