As a Product Owner for Consumer Experience at Optum Consumer Payments, you will be integral in shaping and executing our Consumer Experience strategy. Your efforts will ensure that our users have access to industry-leading features and functionalities, empowering them to maximize their Health Benefit Accounts. You will drive the development and enhancement of our consumer digital experience, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers and the market. As a key member of the Consumer Digital product team, you will work closely with business and technology teams to deliver an industry-defining experience for our consumers.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Roadmap Management: Oversee the execution of the consumer digital roadmap, including defining features and requirements, breaking down features into actionable stories, and ensuring alignment with product strategy and business objectives

  • Scrum Leadership: Lead a cross-functional scrum team in the prioritization, planning, design, development, and release of features and functionalities

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Operations, Technology, Client Management, Finance, Marketing, and other teams to prioritize and deliver consumer digital experience capabilities

  • Consumer-Centric Approach: Champion a consumer-centric approach by leveraging data-driven insights, user feedback, competitive analysis, and market demands to inform decisions and prioritize delivery

  • Dependency and Risk Management: Identify, track, and manage dependencies, issues, and risks to resolution

  • Product Performance Monitoring: Monitor and analyze product performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and drive continuous enhancement of the consumer experience

  • Documentation and Training: Develop and maintain comprehensive product documentation and provide training to internal teams and clients as needed

  • Innovation and Trends: Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously innovate and improve the consumer digital experience

  • Budget Management: Assist in managing the commitments for consumer digital projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and alignment with financial goals

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Regularly engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements, provide updates, and ensure alignment on product vision and goals

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of proven experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in consumer-facing product development

  • 3+ years of experience in gathering and prioritizing product requirements

  • Proven solid understanding of digital product development and consumer experience design

  • Proficiency with AHA, JIRA/Confluence, ability to leverage Figma to create features/stories

  • Proficiency with Agile methodologies and partnering with scrum masters to lead scrum teams

  • Proven excellent communication and collaboration skills

  • Proven solid analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions

  • Experience in gathering and prioritizing product requirements

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Product Management or Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), Pragmatic Marketing)

  • Experience in the healthcare or payments industry

  • Familiarity with Health Benefit Accounts and related regulations

  • Knowledge of user research and usability testing methods

  • Experience with product performance monitoring tools and techniques

  • Understanding of compliance, accessibility, and security standards in digital products

  • Experience in budget management for product development projects

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $88,000 to $173,200 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
