AT&T is looking for an environmental attorney with experience in compliance and enforcement matters. Expertise or significant experience across multiple media and federal and state plan regulatory programs preferred, with litigation experience in administrative, civil, and criminal enforcement actions a strong plus. Candidates with specialization in CAA (NESHAP, NSPS, emergency standby and prime engine permitting including mobile sources), RCRA (PSTs and regulated waste), possessing additional familiarity with CERCLA/SARA, NEPA, Wetlands, ESA, Brownfields and other land use and development law, and coastal law, should apply. Experience with California regulation and enforcement highly desirable. Willingness to assist with occupational health and safety matters is required.

As the lead attorney for environmental, health and safety matters for the enterprise you’ll support the Corporate EH&S Management organization, Corporate Compliance organization, operational Business Unit EH&S Coordinators and management teams, Global Real Estate and Supply Chain organizations, Legal Department subject matter experts and Business Unit attorneys, External Affairs, Media Relations and state and federal regulatory counterparts in the United States along with some assistance on international matters. You will respond to federal and state agency enforcement actions, significant compliance issues, and assist in reviewing real estate and Corporate Development transactional agreements to resolve issues over environmental terms. You will assist in managing a portfolio of historic Superfund and other contaminated sites and their remediation. You will help develop and implement environmental and occupational health and safety compliance policies, practices and training for business units, management, employees, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices. Your knowledge and expertise will enable you to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams to address environmental risks and develop risk mitigation strategies. Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in environmental law, regulations, and strong knowledge of industry trends to provide informed and proactive legal advice.

  • Strong knowledge of federal and state agency compliance and enforcement practice, field operations, and policy including enforcement and penalty policies. Experience in direct interactions with staff to obtain the best outcome for the client.

  • Juris Doctorate Degree is required.

  • Significant prior government experience, preferably at the federal level, highly desirable.

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously are a must.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Our AVP Senior Legal Counsel typically earns 210,600.00-316,000.00 annually. Not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
