Job Description

Teledyne Cable Solutions is comprised of Storm Cable and VariSystems, an integrated alliance supplying engineered solutions to challenging cable situations. TCS provides application-specific, multi-core cable, and ruggedized assemblies for a variety of industries.

Job Summary:

Provides entry level technical expertise through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installations, and maintenance of company products. Assesses potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer applications/solutions. May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications. Ensures that the product application/solution is functioning according to specifications. Understands all aspects of product, application, customer needs, customer requirements, customer wants, and third-party vendor interfaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Primary responsibilities include the review and interpretation of client requirements/specifications into the definition of standard and engineered to order interconnect solutions. These projects will range from large-scale systems to component-level solutions.

  • Serve as the export Jurisdiction and Classification focal (JC focal) for all cable sites.

  • Manage customer interaction for technical communications, both in pre- and post-sales situations, regarding the integration of products into customer end-products.

  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations that explain products or services to customers and prospective customers to help develop business in new and existing markets.

  • This position requires multi-tasking several projects simultaneously.

  • Preparation of application notes and technical articles, drawings.

  • Hands on active support of manufacturing operations on new products and assemblies.

  • Training of staff regarding the newly designed products and assemblies.

  • Manage assigned workload to ensure timely completion under rigid quality standards.

  • Participate in continuous improvement projects within the department and overall business improvement programs as needed.

  • Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to meet goals and deadlines.

Education/Experience

  • BSME or related engineering degree

  • 1-3 years’ experience preferred

  • Working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred)

  • Knowledge of export jurisdiction and classification a plus

  • Microsoft Office programs (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel. Visio a plus)

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail, time management and organizational skills to follow tasks through to completion

  • Ability to prioritize multiple functions and tasks

Position requires 'U.S. Person' status for access to ITAR-Controlled Technical Data.
