Description
The Office of Clinical Affairs at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry invites applications for a full-time 100% FTE, Academic Professional Track faculty position with an 11-month appointment ; the start date is Fall 2024, or negotiable. Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor. This position will include an administrative appointment as Director of Clinical Compliance and t he home department will be designated once an applicant is selected for the position.
This position calls for a person with experience in clinical compliance and leadership. The duties and responsibilities of the Director of Clinical Compliance include: Under the direct supervision of the Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs, the Director of Clinical Compliance contributes to the mission and vision through teaching and managing the compliance program initiatives to identify and mitigate emerging compliance risks to the organization. The Director assists by tracking, trending, and reporting analytics to help identify risks and recommend proactive monitoring initiatives and is responsible for addressing patient grievance communication and managing the performance of assigned work plan audits, management requests, due diligence reviews, and responses to governmental audits and inquiries. The Director serves as a liaison between Texas A&M Dentistry, Texas A&M Health, and Texas A&M University. As a faculty member, this position calls for teaching responsibilities in the pre-doc program and/or post-doc programs.
The Director of Clinical Compliance assists with 1) conducting an annual risk assessment which is used as the basis for the annual compliance plan; 2) resolving patient concerns, disputes, and allegations of non-compliance; 3) developing and administering ongoing compliance education; 4) conducting and/or overseeing the auditing and monitoring of activities which pose compliance risks; 5) maintaining a compliance database for all activities conducted by the department; 6) researching and responding to compliance-related questions; 7) staying abreast of and communicates changes to applicable regulations; 8) facilitating and responds to any third-party investigations; and 9) providing reports to the necessary councils, committees, and other forms of leadership.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must have:
· DDS or DMD
. Extended Education ( JD, PhD, EdD, General Practice Residency, Advanced Education in General Dentistry, etc.)
· Experience with clinical compliance in or related to either outpatient clinics or hospitals
· Experience working in a dental education environment
· Experience in supervision of personnel within a complex clinical environment
· Familiarity with clinical IT/Electronic Dental Records (axiUm, eClinicalWorks, etc.)
· Knowledge of managing patient care, HIPPA compliance, and centers for Medicare and Medicaid
Services· Eligible for licensure in Texas
