The Performance team is looking for a software engineering manager to lead its team of System Performance engineers. The team is responsible for making a difference in Apple’s operating systems by collaborating with hardware and software teams to solve challenging performance problems impacting various user facing workloads and ensure best in class user experience. You will have the opportunity to influence systemic changes in the OS and ship Software releases with excellent performance. We are looking for a strong leader to join and lead this amazing team.

Description

The ideal candidate must be technically strong and will be expected to provide technical direction for the team. The responsibilities will include: Leading a team of high-performing engineers in an innovative and dynamic environment Driving all aspects of technical development, from analyzing performance data to successfully delivering features and changes to improve performance Collaborating effectively with multiple teams and building consensus Mentoring team members to achieve their best potential

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, primarily across the Software stack, or other experience pointing to success as a generalist

  • Strong technical leadership, teamwork and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineers and managers across technical domains

  • Proactive and self motivated with demonstrated creative and critical thinking capabilities

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $219,300 and $329,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
