Software Engineers in our team work closely with research scientists and other engineers to tackle significant technical and human-centered challenges, develop and deploy technologies using Machine Learning, and collaborate with partner teams across Apple to ship internal tools and external products.

Description

The Frontier AI Technologies team in Apple’s SWE organization is building machine learning technologies to power ML-driven features across the company, integrating our technologies into a variety of products, services, and developer workflows across Apple. We are actively seeking a Software Engineer who will use their practical knowledge and experience to help us integrate Frontier AI projects into software products and services across Apple. The candidate would work closely with the rest of the team to implement and deliver technologies into a variety of tools and products. You will have the opportunity to interact with and impact multiple teams across the company, and through those teams millions of Apple users.

Minimum Qualifications

Key Qualifications

  • 3+ years practical experience in software development

  • Experience engineering production software systems on mobile devices, especially on Apple platforms

  • Ability to be self-directed and handle competing demands from multiple simultaneous projects

  • Experience in building early stage products, and making them robust and scalable

Preferred Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • BS in Computer Science or greater, or related field or equivalent experience

Additional Requirements

  • Candidates with some but not all of these qualifications are encouraged to apply:

    • Experience shipping products that use machine learning, especially through Apple’s CoreML
    • Proficiency with ML tools like pyTorch, TensorFlow, Jax, scikit-learn, etc.
    • Experience developing for Apple platforms in Objective-C or Swift
    • Experience working with research scientists and user experience researchers
    • Creative, collaborative, and innovation focused

Pay & Benefits

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $138,900 and $256,500, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
