Apple is seeking a highly skilled data engineer to join the Data Engineering team within Apple Products: Apple Music, App Store, Podcast, iTunes and more. The team is data-driven engineers, collaborating with products team to build user-facing features that primary impacting worldwide customers. We are looking for a talented engineer who is motivated by challenging problems and enthusiastic about data. This is a unique opportunity to join a focused team and work collaboratively with other groups to create significant impact features

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience with distributed computing technologies like Hadoop and Spark.

  • Proficiency in Scala, Java, and SQL.

  • Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to analyze large-scale datasets and possess a keen data sense.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools, excellent analytical and critical thinking skills, and the ability to communicate complex insights effectively.

  • A background in data science or statistics, with the ability to provide scientific support to the team.

  • Expertise in designing, implementing, and supporting highly scalable data systems and services.

  • Expertise in building and running large-scale data pipelines, including distributed messaging systems like Kafka, data ingestion from various sources to feed batch and near-realtime or streaming compute components.

  • A solid understanding of data modeling and architecture optimized for big data patterns, such as efficient storage and querying on HDFS.

  • Experience with distributed storage and network resources, including hosts, clusters, and Data Centers, to troubleshoot and prevent performance issues.

  • Data analysis and data science background are preferred.

  • Familiarity with Tableau, Apache Iceberg tables, Docker, Kubernetes, and Apache Airflow is also advantageous.

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $175,800 and $312,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple’s Employee Stock Purchase Plan.
