UPMC WESTERN MARYLAND HEALTH SERVICES, LLC Hospice Chaplain in Cumberland, Maryland

UPMC Western Maryland Hospice is seeking a Full-time Chaplain to join their team!

This is a Monday - Friday dayshift position that will require some on-call shifts.

*Candidates will be placed in the appropriate job title based on the career ladder education/experience requirements.Pay rates shown are for Chaplain job title.

As the Chaplain, you will provide pastoral care to all patients and their families.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand consensus building and negotiation.
  • Communicate well in a professional exchange of ideas with staff.
  • Share on-call responsibilities.
  • Provide pastoral care in routine and emergent situations.
  • Lead worship as scheduled.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in setting goals.
  • Complete required documentation.
  • Offer expertise in leading groups and continuing education.
  • Working in/contributing to life of interfaith team.
  • Knowledge and understanding of department standards and policies.
  • Seek opportunities for continuing education.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
  • Commitment to patient/family/staff centered pastoral care.

Qualifications:

Associate Chaplain Job Title Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree Required. Major in Pastoral Ministry, Theology, or related field is preferred.
  • Completion of a minimum of 1 unit of CPE (Clinical Pastoral Education) preferred.
  • Candidate must have a 1 unit CPE within one year of hire date.
  • A minimum of 1 year of hospital/healthcare-related experience preferred.
  • Endorsement from a recognized ecclesial body (church).

Chaplain Job Title Requirements:

  • Masters degree in Theology, Divinity or related counseling field.

  • Minimum 4 units Clinical Pastoral Education preferrred.

    Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

  • Professional certification or eligibility as Chaplain from a national certifying organization required, (e.g., The College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy, the Association of Professional Chaplains, the National Association of Catholic Chaplains, the National Association of Jewish Chaplains). Ordination or Commission to function in a ministry of pastoral care and endorsement by his/her denomination authority required.
