The Apple Human Interface Design team conceptualizes, designs and ships the user experience for Apple products and services. We are in search of a Senior Modeler/ Texture Painter to help us craft high-quality assets in service of a variety of studio needs.

Description

  • Model, Texture, and UV assets, working closely with Look Development leads to create stunning visuals - Find innovative solutions by exploring the limits of next-generation technology - Thrive in a collaborative team environment - Guide spatial experiences developed alongside other teams

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years of production experience specializing in asset creation for feature films or advertising

  • Strong background in both solid surface and organic character asset creation

  • Proficiency working with Maya, Mari, Substance, Photoshop, ZBrush, or equivalent software

  • Ability to balance geometric detail with displacement/bump maps

  • Comprehensive knowledge of a VFX pipeline from capture to final delivery

  • Excellent communication skills and the capability of leading collaborative efforts across departments

  • Self-motivated and curious, with an enthusiasm to learn new tools and workflows

  • Ability to find creative solutions for technically challenging tasks

  • Demonstrated eye for scale and detail

  • Reel or portfolio submission required

Key Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior leadership/supervision roles

  • Working understanding of photographic capture processes and techniques

  • General understanding of other DCC tools across VFX disciplines (Nuke, Cinema 4D, Houdini, etc)

  • Experience with UV layout and optimization for real-time assets

  • Experience working with external art teams and outsource partners

  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $166,600 and $250,600, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
