Within our Prime Video Global Operations team, we’re looking for a results-driven BI Engineer to develop our data strategy, reporting automation, insights, and planning capabilities. In this role, you will be responsible for taking data from marketing and business teams, finance, HR, strategy, product, and tech to develop robust workforce data reporting and insights for Amazon PV.

This individual has proficiency in employing business intelligence solutions, excellent analytical abilities, strong business operations fundamentals, and good judgment. The role will be responsible for enhancing PV’s Global Marketing Operations data collection , operational metrics, and capacity planning capabilities in order to build the data infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for developing operational, marketing, and human capital data into an automated reporting suite, and leveraging tools and expertise that will enable PV to map enterprise strategies into actionable delivery plans. You will influence data driven business decisions that results in quantifiable outcomes, understanding complex business relationships, and developing a correlation between your work and PV’s free cash flow.

You will bring a mix of experience including data management and governance, reporting automation, complex global program management, senior stakeholder management, cross-functional collaboration and process improvement. Key job responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain scaled, automated, user-friendly systems, ongoing metrics, reports, APIs, dashboards, etc. that will support our business needs.

  • Define the data elements and data structure that the PV Marketing Global Operations team should leverage to enable analytical and reporting capabilities for the business development team.

  • Apply your deep analytic and business intelligence skill to extract meaningful insight and learning from large and complicated data sets.

  • Prepare management reporting and monitor performance by collecting, analyzing and summarizing performance data and trends, identifying and resolving problems and developing recommendations

  • Design and influence operational best practices for reporting and analytics to enable the team to scale as we grow presence in new and existing territories.

  • Partner with operations/business teams/science/and tech teams to consult, develop and implement KPI’s, automated reporting/process solutions and data infrastructure improvements to meet business needs.

  • Help drive new initiatives and data integration projects.

  • Serve as liaison between the Business and Product/Technical teams to achieve the goal of providing actionable insights into current business performance, and ad hoc investigations into future improvements or innovations. This will require data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.

  • Implement workforce demand planning and management tools and technology enablers that will improve operating accuracy and efficiency

  • Build labor and capacity models for Global Operations creative production and marketing operations teams.

  • Create marketing campaign forecasting capability that optimizes budget and staffing to meet marketing needs

  • Prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment and highly-matrixed organization.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

  • Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

  • Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

  • Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

  • Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

  • Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
