Amazon Art Director, Prime Video Global Brand Strategy & Governance in Culver City, California

The Prime Video (PV) Global Brand Strategy & Governance team is hiring an Art Director responsible for furthering the Prime Video brand visual expression and brand governance. The Art Director will work across a dynamic team of brand strategy, creative, and insights professionals, focused on understanding and building customers’ relationship with the Prime Video brand and service.

The ideal candidate is a visual designer with a proven track record of delivering highly impactful creative aligned with a rigorous brand strategy in a fast-paced environment, and with a cross-functional group of stakeholders. They are deeply passionate about design systems that can be scaled for a global business. They thrive on staying current on the cutting edge of brand and creative design best practices to understand how to effectively express the PV brand.

Key job responsibilities

  • Design brand templates, guidelines and visual expression systems for the Prime Video brand that are utilized by global internal teams & external partners.

  • Partner with copywriters, designers, producers, and strategists to create customer-focused solutions that deliver on brand objectives.

  • Independently lead creative development and collaborate with internal teams, clients and external agency partners.

  • Obsessed with understanding customers and making work that delivers both innovation and results.

  • Present ideas and concepts to internal teams, partners, agencies.

  • Maintain a high bar for the Prime Video brand through governance, including interpreting brand guidelines and solving for the needs of partner teams (including international)

  • Proven ability to ideate for AV, print, digital, out-of-home, experiential and social marketing touchpoints.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once within budget and deadlines.

About the team

The PV Global Brand Strategy & Governance team develops the global approach to the Prime Video brand strategy, verbal and visual expression, and brand governance. The team works closely across Prime Video’s global teams, including Amazon MGM Studios, Sports, and Ads, and partners closely with Amazon’s cross-channel marketing team. As part of the broader Brand & Social Strategy organization, we deliver insights and execute strategies to drive the future of the PV brand.

Basic Qualifications

  • 4+ years creative (Art Direction) experience at advertising agencies and/or as an in-house creative.

  • Online creative portfolio demonstrating conceptual thinking skillset, art direction and design.

  • In-depth understanding of industry design tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma, InVision), and a basic understanding of UX design.

  • Excellent verbal and written presentation skills and interactive storytelling ability.

  • Strong organization, time management, and collaboration skills.

  • Self-starter. Ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, and multi-task.

  • Ability to work efficiently with stakeholders and team members globally

  • Proactive attitude, natural curiosity, willingness to roll up sleeves to achieve goals

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in brand marketing, experience in developing creative for large global brands.

  • Prior experience working in brand strategy within the entertainment industry

  • Past experience working and earning trust in a matrixed, global organization

  • Multilingual capabilities helpful

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $197,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
