Job Title: Commodity BuyerJob Description

Join our team in Cullman, AL as a Project Buyer, where you will be responsible for managing the procurement process for specific projects. You will ensure that all necessary materials and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and vendors to meet project deadlines and stay within budget. You will develop procurement strategies, conduct market research, manage purchase orders, and maintain strong supplier relationships. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can identify cost-saving opportunities and ensure compliance with both company policies and legal regulations.

Hard Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, or engineering

  • 2+ years of experience as a buyer in a manufacturing setting (automotive preferred)

  • Proficiency in Excel

  • Experience with SAP

Soft Skills

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to establish contacts and vet suppliers

  • Skilled in negotiating pricing and maintaining supplier base

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented

Job Type

This is a permanent position.

Work Site

This is a hybrid position requiring some days on-site in Cullman, Alabama and some days remote.

Work Environment

Some travel to suppliers may be required (day trips, up to 3 days). Initially, the position requires on-site presence 5 days a week for training, transitioning to a hybrid schedule of 3 days on-site and 2 days remote.
