This Engineering role can be filled at I/II/III Engineer level.**

The Upper Occoquan Service Authority is seeking a quality Engineer to join the Process Engineering group in our Engineering and Technology Division. The successful applicant will join a dedicated team of Control Systems Engineers performing control system network administrator tasks. Applicants should have a keen interest and/or troubleshooting, maintenance, and implementation for many aspects of UOSA's computerized industrial control systems and platforms (especially in wastewater). Previous hands-on experience researching information system problems and in troubleshooting same, is highly required. This role requires the candidate to have knowledge of installing and testing new software and hardware acquisitions, managing network architecture and network infrastructure for OT, DCS, and SCADA platforms and managing software licensing and hardware inventory.

Applicants should be able to have good working relationships with technical peers, management, trade staff, and operation staff. Being able to work well with all disciplines is key to the role.

  • Graduation from a from an accredited four-year college or university; skill in computer networking and administration; or any equivalent combination of education, experience, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Requires the ability to manage project workloads and coordinate activities of outside contractors and UOSA personnel.
  • Must be experienced in researching information system problems and in troubleshooting same.
  • Working knowledge and experience of TCP/IP networking and system administration experience in a MS-Windows environment, network cabling and switches, MS SQL Server as well as OT, DCS, and SCADA systems experience.
  • Good writing and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Must be able to meet physical requirements of position to include walking, bending, stooping, lifting and carrying 30 pounds. Must be able to participate in applicable work-safety programs.
  • Possession of a vehicle operator's license valid in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required.
