Aerotek Machine Operator in Crystal Lake, Illinois

Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

We are seeking dedicated candidates to join our production team, which offers a variety of opportunities, including machine operating, grinder operating, quality control, material handling, CNC, and more. Our product is unique, primarily consisting of carbon rings and seals used in the oil industry. The pressed carbon acts as a seal/coupling/washer, is insulated, and does not transfer heat.

Responsibilities

  • Operate machines that press powder carbon into small rings.

  • Operate grinding machines to ensure pieces are the proper size after quality checks with micrometers or calipers.

  • Perform offsets on machines to ensure parts meet specifications.

  • Visually inspect rings for imperfections and stack them into buckets.

  • Move buckets into a furnace where rings cook and solidify for 5 days.

  • Operate lapper machines and monitor progress.

  • Perform repetitive tasks and possibly work with multiple machines.

Work Environment

Openings are available on the 2nd shift: Monday to Friday; 2nd shift: 3pm-11pm. Training occurs from 7am-3:30pm, Monday to Friday. The work environment is a bit dirtier and can be hot depending on the weather, as we primarily produce carbon-based rings from pressing and heat treating a black sand-like powder form. The company provides uniforms and a laundry service for $2 a week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Crystal Lake, IL, Illinois.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00
