Rolling Plains Management Corporation is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time Purchasing Specialist/Accounts Payable position that will report to to the Finance Director. Regular work hours are 8am to 5pm. Some variation in work hours may be required. This position entails mainly tasks that are technical and diverse in nature and require the capacity of judgment and action to accomplish program goals. This person must have the capacity to work with others in a group effort to meet department goals.

The Purchasing Specialist is responsible for conducting work regarding accounting and fiscal reporting in accordance with the agency Accounting and Financial Policies and Procedures Manual and grant regulations. The Purchasing Specialist provides day-to-day fiscal support to the Director of Finance and respective program directors. The Purchasing Specialist must be well organized and able to communicate effectively with all staff. This position performs financial duties as assigned including, but not limited to, purchase order processing, maintaining purchasing files, management of agency maintenance requests, incoming and outgoing mail management, filing and administrative support to accounting staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree in business or related field preferred. Two years of related job experience may be substituted for one (1) year of college with approval of the Executive Director.
  • Possess demonstrated ability of personal computer operations within a Windows Microsoftenvironment, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Excel desired.
  • Two years minimum experience working in non-profit and/or government setting preferred.
  • Working knowledge of grant compliance requirements (Government Auditing Standards, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, OMB Uniform Guidance, Texas Administrative code, and federal/state funder agencies) preferred.
  • Ability to make accurate math calculations required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to balance a variety of duties, prioritize, and meet deadlines required.
  • Ability and desire to work with a diverse population and low-income individuals required.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skill required. Ability to communicate effectively with clients, other team members, and management.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instruction and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to change in the workplace.
