Description:

We are looking for an individual with strong time management and exceptional customer service skills to fill the position of phlebotomist. This role is key to the success of Laboratory Services with a focus on establishing a relationship and instilling confidence in our patients. The ideal candidate tailors their service to the needs of each individual; they love to be around people and are naturally conversational and comforting. The phlebotomist’s priority is not only to safely collect blood, but also to minimize patient discomfort and provide a friendly smile with the end goal of improving the experience and easing the minds of patients of all ages and comfort levels.

Qualifications:

Must hold high school diploma or equivalent.

Certification in medical assistance or phlebotomy preferred.

Exercises concern for the patient’s welfare above all else

Works cooperatively with the rest of the lab team of scientists, leaders, assistants, and techs to ensure uninterrupted and safe laboratory services.

Ability to remain calm in a variety of situations.

Demonstrates both basic computer skills and direct, timely professional communication.

Utilizes time management skills to ensure optimal turnaround time for laboratory assays, to keep a clean work environment, and to maintain a well-stocked laboratory area.

Technically skilled, knowledgeable about human anatomy with regard to vein selection, and able to perform venipuncture and capillary puncture according to CRMC procedures.

Safely and accurately collects specimen and follows chain of custody for all procedures to ensure positive patient ID, specimen ID, and specimen integrity.

Processes specimen for core and reference labs

Uses resources at hand to ensure drawing of the correct sample type, correct volume, and correct time.

Performs other duties based on role as needs arise
