VP, Loan Administration Optimization and Training Manager

Job Description:

Summary

The VP, Loan Administration Optimization and Training Manager (“O&T Manager”) is a dynamic role with a number of responsibilities. This position will oversee training and development of the newly hired and existing Loan Coordinator (“LC”) Team. Working alongside Loan Coordinator Managers, the associate oversees and manages the on-boarding process and provides feedback and guidance. The O&T Manager will also develop and provide continual training for the entire LC Team when appropriate. This will require collaborating with managers across the organization, such as; Loan Operations, Loan Documentation, Credit, Compliance, Retail and Legal. In addition to training LC’s, this position is responsible for training Relationship Managers (RMs) on the loan process and system.

The O&T Manager is a strategic partner with Leadership in identifying and developing process and procedural efficiencies within the department. This position is the driver of consistency within the team and partners with the respective Managers to maintain a seamless onboarding process and training platform. This position will perform an annual review of the Loan Life Cycle by working in concert with stakeholders in Compliance, Loans Ops, Funding, Documentation, Credit & Loan Administration and others, to identify, vet, propose solutions, build and deploy process changes to create synergies and efficiencies to enhance client experience. The O&T Manager will be an active member of the Loan Process Task Force and project committees. The O&T Manager will lead projects, i.e. Zennify/nCino optimization, representing Credit & Loan Administration.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the Loan Coordination Trainee Program, includes screening, hiring, building curriculum, training, development and placement.

  • Key member of Loan Process Task Force (LPTF) to ensure process enhancements and continuous improvement.

  • Act as conductor for optimization projects on behalf of Credit & Loan Administration, i.e. Zennify liaison.

  • Develop and facilitate training for LCs and RMs on the loan process system (e.g. nCino), including but not limited to onboarding.

  • Work closely with LC Managers and Credit Administration to ensure an efficient and consistent on-boarding and training process.

  • Provide leadership to LCs. Responsible for ongoing coaching, performance, training and development of LCs in collaboration with the LC Managers

  • Create and maintain training materials and resources.

  • May act as liaison between Credit, Loan Coordinator, RMs, Loan Ops, Documentation, Compliance, etc. to ensure cohesive working relationships.

  • Communicate effectively with Leadership, as it pertains to various assignments and initiatives.

  • Maintain advanced knowledge and awareness of financial industry trends, such as, laws and regulatory updates and bulletins. Attend trade association meetings and networks with colleagues and industry experts.

  • Completes other duties and projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge of C&I, CRE, Specialized and Consumer lending processes and procedures

  • Strong knowledge of attorney prepared documentation

  • Strong knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and Bank accounting policies and procedures. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to provide leadership, supervision and training for associates using positive supervisory techniques to ensure maximum productivity; demonstrated ability in organization and delegation skills

  • Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, read, analyze and interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports, correspondence and procedures, speak clearly to customers and associates

  • Thorough understanding of management procedures; ability to plan department or Bank activities (setting objectives, developing strategies, budgeting, and developing policies and procedures); initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department or Bank activities; effective staffing (selecting, training and developing employees); directing associates towards the desired objectives (delegating, motivating, resolving problems); controlling the function (developing performance standards, measuring results, taking corrective action and rewarding employees as appropriate)

  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team environment

  • Task oriented with the ability to set broad goals and work independently to complete projects and priorities by established deadlines

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Manage Loan Coordinator Trainees and Trainee Program

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Minimum ten years’ experience in Commercial Loan Documentation, Commercial Loan Administration or as a Commercial Loan Coordinator

  • Minimum five years experience in People or Project Management

  • Skilled in operation of a personal computer, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)
