Avera is currently seeking a Physician Assistant (PA) looking to deliver the best possible care in Avera’s patient-focused settings.

Job Summary

Provides health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician/Nurse Practitioner. Provides exceptional care and service to patients, residents, guests and fellow employees at all times. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.

Education and/or Experience

• Graduate of a PA Educational Program or Nurse Practitioner accredited by the Commission of Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

• Must have thorough knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.

• Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with physicians, other employees, and patients.

• Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATION, LICENSURE, and/or REGISTRATIONS

• Possess current P.A. or N.P. Licensure.

Work Schedule

• Varied Shifts: This is an on-call position; 16 hours every 2 weeks

• Every 6 th weekend

• Occasional holiday
