The Pool Source is looking for a Pool Service Technician Apprentice to join our team this season. This position is designed for an individual who is eager to learn and grow within the pool service industry. You will be partnered with an experienced Pool Service Technician for on-the-job training including but not limited to, in-ground pool openings and closings, repairs, and maintenance. In addition, as part of the apprenticeship you will complete 144 additional hours of online classroom-style instruction through The Pool and Hot Tub Alliance. This is an outdoor hands on position that offers great opportunity for growth.
Applicant must be professional in conduct and appearance, hardworking, and punctual. Position is 40-50 hours per week during the busy season April - November. Overtime paid above 40 hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Pool Service Technician Apprentice will be a key contributor to over 800 pool openings and closing annually, which involves preparing pools for the season and ensuring they are properly closed to prevent damage during the off-season.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, troubleshooting issues, assisting with equipment repairs, plumbing and leaks
- Install safety covers, which is essential for ensuring the safety and cleanliness of pools when not in use
- Maintain the company vehicle in a clean and organized manner, ensuring that it is always ready for the days tasks
- Complete paperwork and reporting service requirements to management
Qualifications:
- Mechanically inclined
- Valid drivers license
- Self-motivated and a good attitude
- Proven problem-solving skills
- Strong communicationandinterpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independentlyandas part of a team.
- Ability to drive a fork-lift
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Comfortable working in and around water.
This position has the option to take a layoff during the off-season or receive additional training to become a certified spa technician.
