Responsibilities Technical Leader with a strong background utilizing Six Sigma tools. Partner with all stakeholders to define product requirements for mechanical designs and support the needs of the Electrical EngineersConduct detailed design and analysisDefine, implement and conduct data analysis on a test planDesign test rigs for validation testingCreate drawings and models using CADPresent project updates to our internal stakeholdersSupport the patent process as needed
Qualifications *Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: *Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent Proven ability to multitask in a fast paced environmentDemonstrated ability to communicate with both internal and external customers on technical and non-technical mattersCreative problem-solving and a customer-based perspectiveSolid verbal and written communication skillsSolid project management, interpersonal and analytical skillsWillingness to work in a hands-on mannerProven ability to develop plastic products and components, including knowledge of manufacturing processes, materials and characteristicsDemonstrated ability to design equipment and electro-mechanical systemsDemonstrated proficiency in MS Office, Solidworks, advanced analysis FEA, Cycle Fatigue, Tolerance Analysis, etc., and BOM management tools. Knowledge of third party testing agencies such as UL or CSA, and the role they play in the development of safety equipmentKnowledge of design for Manufacturing Assembly using automationProven ability to transform requirements into innovative solutions that creates significant value for both MSA and our customersDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasksProven ability to read and interpret technical documentation relating to products and processes *Education/Experience Required: *Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline, preferably from an ABET-accredited programThis position is available at two different career levels based upon experience, education, etc.:
Level I - 5 years of relevant experience
Level II - 7 years of relevant experience
MS degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of relevant experience.Experience with SAP Engineering and manufacturing document control or similar MRP type system
