Description

As an EMS Education Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and managing educational programs for emergency medical services (EMS) personnel. Your primary responsibilities include developing training curricula, organizing workshops and certification courses, and ensuring compliance with state and national standards. You will collaborate with instructors, healthcare professionals, and regulatory bodies to enhance the quality of EMS education and professional development.

Job Duties

• Works with Lead Instructor or work with the lead instructor to develop the policies, schedule and organizational structure of the EMR/EMT/AEMT/PM programs, adjusting as needed.

• Interviews, hires, and supervises faculty for EMS programs.

• Counsel and collaborate regularly with faculty, to ensure the program is meeting objectives and goals.

• Make changes in program structure, policies, faculty and schedule as needed to assure the program goals and objectives are met.

• Regularly evaluates the education processes in the classroom, laboratory and clinical settings through Adjunct Feedback and evaluations.

• Serve as EMS program director/liaison for State and accreditation purposes and attend all state coordinator meetings.

• Assures all faculty hold valid and current EMS certification while teaching at IWCC, and all lead instructors hold current EMS Instructor endorsement in the state of Iowa.

• Assures all local, state and national requirements are met and maintained by completing reports in a timely manner.

Qualifications

• Active Iowa paramedic certification, EMS Instructor, Current PHTLS, AMLS, BLS, ACLS provider

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or working towards completion of Bachelor’s Degree within one year of hire date.

• Three years of field experience in EMS and willing to complete Instructor certification in NAEMT and AHA disciplines

• Ability to pass a background check, have a valid U.S. driver's license and good driving record

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs

• The employee frequently is required to sit for extended periods of time and use hands to operate computer keyboard, telephone and basic office equipment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear

• Ability to drive company owned or personal vehicle
