Robert Half MES Systems Engineer in Cottondale, Alabama

Description We are in search of a proficient MES Systems Engineer to come aboard our team located in Cottondale, Alabama. This role functions within the automotive industry, focusing on providing MES support to manufacturing operations. The position will involve monitoring and troubleshooting the MES system, configuring and maintaining various devices, and interacting with other integrated systems.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct MES system monitoring and troubleshooting, ensuring smooth operations

• Implement problem resolution strategies for the MES system

• Handle the configuration of printers, scanners (PPC), PBL controllers and carts, and part labels within the MES system

• Conduct basic level network troubleshooting to maintain system efficiency

• Keep track of and control MES devices and their configurations to ensure optimal performance

• Provide IT support for other systems integrated with MES, such as JIS sequence system, Paintshop system, SAP, AIB, HMI etc.

• Collect new MES requirements or changes from the operations team, translate them into technical specifications, and ensure their implementation by the MES vendor team

• Review and test changes with the vendor team, plan for rollout, and test it with operations

• Draft work instructions and provide training to the operations team

• Remain available after hours and weekends as needed, and be willing to work on-call rotation, to support escalations that affect business operations and client services. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the automotive industry

• Proven expertise as an MES Systems Engineer

• Proficiency in using Agile methodologies for project management

• Strong knowledge of manufacturing execution systems (MES)

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve MES issues

• Experience with system configuration, testing, and validation

• Excellent communication and teamwork skills

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
